So, when n = 4, the time taken for everyone to complete the swim is 836.69 seconds. This is 66.69 seconds more than making the swimmers climb out at the end of each length, wait until all the swimmers have completed the length and then set off one by one in the opposite direction.

This means that the best way to complete the swim is not to walk around the pool, but to wait at one end until everyone has finished the lap.

Validation
